ADVERTISMENT=16 (GotFrag) - While many of us might be looking ahead more to next round's matchup between Pandemic & eMg, 7-1 still has a few interesting little matchups to carry us over. Pandemic still holds the top stop in the Standings, though they paid for it last week with a narrow 5-4 win over x6. They're rewarded with a BYE this round, giving them all the more time to ramp up for 7-2, while eMg hosts Veneration in a bit of a warmup match.

Meanwhile, just as interesting as the struggle up top, a bit of a quagmire is forming in the 3-through-5 spots, with Sway just outside at #6 but still a big part of the conversation. Check-Six, iDemise & Apoplexy Industries sit 3, 4, 5 in the standings, all within a game of each other. Just about every match from here on in is going to be critical for the final playoff seedings, with AI & x6 meeting next week and iDem needing to survive eMg & Sway matches in the meantime. Makeup matches will also play a big factor - x6 has an eMg-match of their own to play - with each team having at least one match to play again. And Sway Gaming, sitting in 6th with a 6-6 record, could play spoiler in this little game, with matches against both iDem (tonight) and AI in the final week. Ahh, it's a good time to be a TF2 fan :)

NOTE: Pressures of a student's life may limit the length of some preds - but then again, I never have to say too much to get it wrong :)

UG's in a bit of trouble, I think - 3 straight postponed matches and a Recruitment post make me nervous, but here's hoping all is well in the United land. Not that it'll help them too much this week with the streaking Industry, who've won 3 straight and played great in 5, all in high-pressure situations. Lets hope AI isn't thinking more of x6 next round then UG this round.

AI [ 5 : 2 ] UG

Check-Six v Xensity

Xensity2--2

Both teams had a somewhat heartbreaking losses last week, with Xen coming up just short of Sway's big first half lead in Week 6-1 while x6 took Pandemic to a 4-4 tie before losing that last point in 6-2. Xen probably could have used that pick-me-up win against UG, and as a result I think it'll take a few rounds for them to get into this one before they make a match of it - not something you can do against x6.

x6 [ 5 : 3 ] Xen

Sway Gaming v iDemise - MOTW
Scoreboard1H2HOTF
Sway Gaming5--5
iDemise2--2

As I hinted to before, this baby's got huge importance to playoff seedings. If Sway drops this one, they're pretty much resigned to the 6th seed, but they could very well climb higher should they run the table from here on out. iDemise is a hell of an opponent to start that off with, though, especially on a map like cp_granary. I think the tradition of Dev/iDem's success on this map will continue for this match at least, and set us up for a monster Week 7-2.

Sway [ 2 : 5 ] iDem

Team Dynamic v Start the Reactor!

Whoooo, something woke up last week in sR, eh? Sweeping Ven right off the map with a 5-0 win re-instated some of my faith in the Reactor. Coupled with the complete lack of faith I have in Dynamic right now, who are riding a 4-game losing streak, and we've got a pretty easy preds.

...now watch it blow up totally in my face :)

Dynamic [ 1 : 5 ] sR

eMazing Gaming v Veneration

Veneration----

Sure, eMg's got a monster match next week, but after getting blanked last week, I'm sure Ven would love to grab a little limelight and spoil the party with an upset.

...but how often do we get what we want?

eMg [ 5 : 0 ] Ven
