GotFrag is here with GotSkills? to bring you the highs and lows of the CEVO Professional Season 8 Playoffs.
USA - CyberEvolution and Layered Technologies brought us the $10,000 Grand Championship for the six teams who qualified this past weekend. X3O kept their promise in defending that title and will do so next season. MoB continues to struggle against the #1 X3O and even had some close calls early on. Top 3 Team Performances of the Playoffs
1. X3O - As usual, x3o made things easy as they swept the event comfortably and established themselves as the best team in the nation. They continue to do big things with back-to-back CEVO championships just after a win at the GotFrag Revival Preliminary.
2. MoB - Clinging to their heels, MoB falls just short to X3O once again. After many match-ups against them, they're still some kinks that need to get worked out. With a little more time with Garcia, and some needed practice, we might see MoB win a finals match against them.
3. Iniquity - They played a great season and finished off strong in playoffs. A third place finish is nothing to complain about with some key wins and some losses that haven't sunk in yet. If this lineup can stay together, they will be a great contender for next season.

Most Valuable Player: Derrick "impulsivE" Truong - The very reliable utility fragger does it once again as he racks up the numbers for the playoffs. In their last match in the Grand Final to defeat MoB, Truong had a 27 frags with a 110.3 DAR. He's been a key player in X3O for some time and will continue to push forward with the team to test their limits.

Surprise of the Playoffs: MoB Gaming - They had the advantage over X3O during the season and didn't utilize that to their style of play when it came to playoffs. MoB was unable to beat X3O in the three times they played just in playoffs alone. Their finals match was not even close and will need to make some changes in order to overcome that obstacle.

Stock Rising: X3O - These guys have taken the spotlight of being one of the best North American teams in a long time. Previously winning the GotFrag Revival Tournament Preliminary and now another CEVO Championship; they are on the road of many more accomplishments to come.

Stock Falling: EG - Since their 2008 Dust-Off Quailifier win in Maryland, they haven't been able to keep the fire alive. After their early exit in the GRT event, and now playoffs, its hard to say whats next for the U.S. squad. This does not qualify as success in my book and they are certainly capable of doing better.
